Start with the job

Build the barn setup around chores—not a pile of products.

K&D’s racehorse-barn roots shaped a practical system for feed, water, cleanup, grooming, travel and repair. The right starting gear is the gear your barn reaches for every day.

Why the Racetrack Is a Useful Design School

Thoroughbred barns compress a lot of work into a tight routine. Horses need water, feed, clean stalls, grooming and correctly prepared equipment on schedule. Weak tools and awkward systems reveal themselves quickly.

K&D took those lessons from Texas and New Mexico racing barns and kept refining them at F-Bar Ranch in Gainesville, Texas.

Choose the Product Lane

Feed and water

Start with the KD-120E Silver for everyday flat-back utility. Step up to KD-120 Platinum when harder use, reinforcement and the Platinum Bucket Promise are priorities.

Fixed feeding

Use the KD-121 Feed Tub for a roomy wall-mounted station. Compare corner and floor options in the Feeding Gear collection.

Stall and trailer cleanup

Use the KD-115 as the full-size daily fork. Add compact forks and compatible replacement parts for trailers, tight spaces and repair support.

Grooming and organization

Use the KD-125 for three grooming jobs, then keep the kit together with the KD-127 Tote All or KD-164 Grooming Stool.

Four Buying Rules

  1. Match the job: water capacity, feed placement and cleanup tool size are functional choices.
  2. Match the abuse: Silver serves everyday value; Platinum is the step-up route for harder use.
  3. Inspect the system: a good bucket on bad hanging hardware is still a bad setup.
  4. Plan the repair path: compatible heads and handles can keep useful cleanup tools in service.
Heavy does not mean strong. Proof does. Ask what the construction changes, where force travels, what testing is visible and what support is written down.

A Simple Starter Sequence

First Then Finally
Equip feed and water for each horse and location. Add the full-size and compact cleanup tools the property needs. Color-code, organize and stock compatible wear or replacement parts.
