A Day in the Life at K&D: Coffee, Chaos & Cowboy Logic

Ever wonder what a typical day looks like at K&D Equestrian? Think less “corporate strategy session” and more “who left the feed scoop in the water bucket again?” It’s a beautiful blend of barn grit, southern sass, and just enough duct tape to qualify as an engineering degree.

☕ 6:00 AM – Coffee First, Then Questions

The K&D crew doesn’t function without caffeine. Period. Before we even touch a feed tub, we’re in a high-stakes battle with the office coffee machine (which may or may not have been kicked into compliance once or twice).

Meanwhile, out at F-Bar Ranch, the real MVPs — the horses — are already throwing shade because we’re two minutes late with breakfast. Horses don’t care that we were up until midnight shipping orders. Horses want grain, and they want it now.

🚚 8:30 AM – Orders, Questions, and “Can I Use This Tub for a Goat?”

By mid-morning, the phones are ringing and the inbox is hotter than a July saddle pad. We’re answering everything from “Will this feeder survive my draft horse?” to “Can I use this feed scoop as a margarita pitcher?” (The answer: yes, but we legally can’t recommend it.)

Shipping’s in full swing, which means boxes, tape guns, and at least one “who packed this upside down?” moment. Shoutout to the warehouse team who lifts with their knees and has the patience of saints.

🔧 11:00 AM – Product Testing, Ranch-Style

If we’re launching something new, that means it’s time for the ultimate test: can it survive the F-Bar Ranch? If a bucket cracks, a tub flips, or a feeder flops, it’s back to the drawing board. We don’t put our name on anything until it’s been stomped, soaked, and possibly used as a chew toy.

Basically, if our gear survives our test horses, it’ll survive yours. No offense to your horses. (Okay, maybe a little.)

🍔 12:30 PM – Lunch & Debrief (Aka, Feed Store Gossip Hour)

Lunch is where the real business happens. We’re talking product ideas, customer stories, and that one time a horse got loose in the parking lot. (It was graceful. Kind of. Okay not at all.)

We might even pull out a prototype, stare at it like it insulted our mama, and say, “You know what would make this better?” before grabbing a drill.

📦 2:00 PM – Quality Checks, Phone Calls & Horse Interruptions

The afternoon is all about making sure every product that leaves our hands is perfect. We triple-check U-bolt placements, ring fits, and yes — colors. (We see you, folks who MUST have teal everything. Respect.)

Meanwhile, a horse outside is kicking a fence post just to remind us who really runs the show. Spoiler: it’s not us.

🌅 5:00 PM – Wrapping Up & Ranch Reality

We end the day with full hearts, dusty boots, and one last walk through the barn to make sure everything’s fed, watered, and not actively trying to destroy itself. It’s a little wild, a lot honest, and 100% what we love to do.

Because around here, every day is a test. Of gear. Of grit. Of patience. But we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thanks for riding with us,
K&D Equestrian
